behind the iron curtain

Have you heard of the iron curtain? Bukan penjara ye kawan2. The term “iron curtain” refers to countries in Eastern Europe, which used to be communist countries.

The initial plan was to spend Xmas in the US. But because someone failed his US visa interview *roll eyes* that plan didn’t materialize… dan RM 512 yang dibayar kepada kerajaan Pak Obama pun berterbangan…

Yup, the visa application fee is non-refundable. RM 512 per person. Imagine how many people apply in a day? No wonder their government is so rich. (P.S. Anyone wants to go to the US with me? Need to make good use my visa before it expires.)

Back to the original topic. Sudden change of plan merely weeks before the departure date. Where to go then? It had to be somewhere I never been before, interesting and didn’t require visa. I immediately thought of Eastern Europe.

Germany -> Austria -> Hungary -> Croatia -> Slovenia

5 countries. 9 cities. 20 days.

Let the journey begin!

dalila,
yes, suasana yg sgt berbeza. sgt tenang dan bersih.. lain sgt kalu compare dgn big european cities yg sibuk dan serabut.

aida,
it was amazing indeed!
yes, kena interview ye. mcm2 dia tanya. kalau nak apply, sila siap sedia. kalu tak, rugi rm 512.

I still hv my US visa, but it's in the exprired passport. Do you think I need to re-apply?
I also almost did not get Visa. Waited 3-4 long weeks for them to return my passport to me and got it like 4 days before flying into LA. Giler suspen!

yeay another travel buddy!!!

don't worry, u definitely don't need to reapply. all you must do is to bring your old passport (the one with the visa) together with your new passport when you travel to the states.

oh dear u had to wait for 2 weeks? horrornya.. sure tix, hotels and all dah book kan.. mesti saspen habih. lucky u got it in the end!
