Woke up, showered and had breakfast. Most of the participants went hiking. I decided to stay at the campsite.. and.. sleep! Sangat best tido dalam hammock.. macam baby dalam buaian.. dengan udara segar.. bunyi cengkerik yang mendamaikan.. lena sungguh! Lagi2 pulak masa tu dah seminggu tak cukup tido sebab hari2 balik keje lambat. It was the perfect rest that I really needed.
An old man came by to sell honey.
I syok tido, Ilani lepak baca buku.
We were supposed to have barbecue that night, and since most people were out hiking, those left at the campsite had to do the preparation. The funny thing was the person who knew how to marinade the chicken couldn’t make it in time. Maka bangun je dari tido, I dengan Ilani pun jadilah master chef bidan terjun.
Mula2 kita basuh ayam di tepi sungai.
Tengah sibuk basuh ayam tiba2 seekor labi2 jengah kepala.. errkkk!
Lepas itu kita tuang segala rempah ratus sampai habis (sebab takde sapa tau apa sukatan nak pakai).
Alang2 menyeluk pekasam. Leceh pakai senduk, rempah tak rata.
By lunch time several more club members arrived from KL. Went for a walk with them to find a spot to do flying fox. FYI the guys in the club were certified to do perform high rope activities. They even got full set of equipments that they brought along to outdoor trips.
Just follow the trail.
Balik dari berjalan, perut lapar, makan ration.
Suddenly a bug landed in my sambal udang and peed in it! Eeewww!
The guys busy tying ropes for the next day’s activity.
The rest of the evening were spent melepak, playing cards and more sleeping. It started to rain and we got a little worried because those who went hiking hadn’t returned yet. They were supposed to be back at the campsite around 3 pm. We waited. Pukul 3 tak balik. Pukul 4 tak balik. Pukul 5 tak balik. Hujan makin lebat. Hari makin gelap. Where were they?
By 7 pm we decided to start off the barbecue. They must have been caught in the rain in on the top of the hill, so it would take a long while to get down, wet, slippery and all. By the time they would reach the campsite they would be really tired and hungry. Better if we started it off so that they could just eat when they got back.
But at back of our minds, we couldn’t help wondering, where were they? What took them so long? Were they okay?
And the rain got heavier. The night got darker. Still the ones who went hiking had not returned.
We kept on waiting and praying that everything was okay. We finally managed to call one of them and found out there was a person injured, hence they had to slow down.
And we lit the fire, began to grill and hoped our friends would reach the campsite very soon...
