The day we had been waiting for – to watch the performance at Sydney Opera House! Even though it was only an orchestra, it didn’t matter, we really wanted to experience watching something in the infamous building. Since It was a matinee show, we had some time to spend in the morning. So we headed to two popular and historic malls.
First, the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), which was built in 1898.
Second, the Strand Arcade, which opened for business in 1892.
Both malls have really amazing colonial architecture. The restoration works on them were carefully done to preserve their originality. Though the shops boast modern brands like Adidas and Oroton, the look and feel of the building itself remains intact.
Then we headed to Sydney Opera House to watch the orchestra. For the life of me, I can’t recall the name of the show. Was it by Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra? I don’t remember. What I do remember is enjoying it very much! Photos weren’t allowed during the performance, so all I could show you is this...
...where the musician seats. Taken from where we sat. We bought the cheapest tix, but they were the closest to the stage.
I don’t remember what we did next..
Let’s just assume that we behaved like good kids, went back to the motel and zzz..
