Had iftar with former schoolmates at Marché (The Curve). At first I declined the invitation as I was supposed to iftar with a friend who was 9 months pregnant yet still had a major craving – she craved for Ramadan buffet at Sunway Resort Hotel *gawk*. Unfortunately (or fortunately) in the morning, she texted...
“baru jumpa doc tadi. doc kata dah bole beranak sbb serviks dah buka 4cm. haha. hopefully sempat sampai malam ni nak bukak pose”
...dah dilated 4cm yet still nak buka puasa kat hotel, boleh?
Told her forget about it, go give birth already! By 6pm, she was in labour room. And few hours later she delivered a baby boy. Imagine if we were at Sunway Resort Hotel enjoying iftar and she suddenly wanted to push-push-push.. erkkk!
*Thinking* Hope the baby tak keluar air liur sebaldi pasal tak dapat makan Ramadan buffet :-p
Anyway, back to Marché. For most of us, it was our first time there. We were given a card each that we had no idea what to do with, so we called the waiter to explain it to us. It turned out that the card was for us to get stamps when we take our orders. Since it was a buffet, we didn’t need to use the card for food. But drinks and ice cream weren’t included in the buffet (weird) so we needed to get stamps for those.
Reminded me of hostel days – take your food and stamp your card.
Some of the food counters by the way.
Friends and food at Marché.
Good place to bring kids – there’s a playground in there.
It was Naf’s birthday, so we took the chance to celebrate.
The cost for one person.
Buffet: RM 65.00 – Only for food. Need to pay extra for drinks and ice cream.
Drink: RM 4.95 – That was the promo price for a glass of watermelon juice. For other drinks they charge full price around RM 10 to RM 15 per glass/cup. No, they don’t provide plain water. Have to buy their mineral water, no idea how much.
With 10% service charge and government tax, we had to pay RM 81.15 per person.
Worth it? Well, the food was average, I would say. The best dish I sampled was pepperoni pizza fresh from the oven.. with overflowing mozarella cheese.. yumster! The ambiance was very nice. And there were not that many people around. So I guess we paid more for the comfort, not so much for the food.
Anyway, it was great to meet up with old friends. Thank you Siti for organizing it!
