Last Saturday my family attended Firuz and Suzila’s wedding reception in Shah Alam. Firuz is my childhood friend. Our parents have been friends since their student days, long before we even existed. So the wedding was like a mini reunion for mums and dads. For the children, we just tag along while trying to figure out which aunty and uncle match the black and white photos in our parents’ stone age albums :-D
We got there slightly late, so we sat a bit far from the pelamin.
Zoom.. zoom.. zoom.. finally got this pic.
Menu for the night.
The concept was “burung puyuh” so they gave out telur puyuh as bunga telur.
The hall was decked like a bird park.
The bride and groom at the dining table.
Saw my former schoolmate Soraya and her family. Her dad, my dad and Firuz’s dad all went to the same college. Then years later, Soraya and I went to the same school!
Cake cutting ceremony.
The bride and groom heading to the door to shake hands with guests at they left the hall.
While they do that, the groom’s brother Firdaus dedicated a song to him. Something romantic? Apparently not! It was “Memburu Impian” by Kristal :-D
Congrats Firuz and Suzila! May Allah bless you always!
It was fun to meet childhood friends, who became my friends simply by the virtue of our parents being friends. Yet what was even more fun? To hear parents reminiscing their younger days.. zaman hippies.. rambut panjang.. main gitar tong.. yadda.. yadda.. yadda.. everybody was young once! By the way, I just have to mention the best menu on the table...
...it was kuih bakar berlauk! Yummy!
