After lunch at Kassim Mustafa, we drove to Chowrasta, the popular marketplace where you could go crazy over a wide range of Penang traditional snacks.
Welcome to Chowrasta!
Downstairs is food heaven - jeruk, kuah rojak, sotong kering etc. Upstairs is fashion heaven - shirts, bags shoes etc.
The alley next to the main market is for Malay clothing - kain pasang, tudung, jubah etc. Pakcik tokey kedai pun tumpang pose ;-)
Shopping aside, poverty in Penang was difficult to ignore.
Kita minum dulu! Nothing beats roadside cendol!
Then we went to Masjid Kapitan Keling to perform solat.
We felt sticky from the heat at Chowrasta, so we headed to Gurney Plaza to enjoy the aircond.
After cooling down
Jom pi sana!
Orang Melaka panggil beca. Orang Penang panggil lanca.
In memory of those who lost their lives defending the nation.
Farah was petrified that I sat there. One finger push and I could fall backwards into the sea!
Entrance to Fort Cornwallis. We arrived too late, it was already closed for the day. But the caretaker let us to take a peek inside and see...
...the real statue of Francis Light. Yang ni confirm bukan Michael Jackson ye Farah :-p
The moment we left Padang Kota Lama, it started raining cats and dogs. We decided not to take the chance of staying in city centre where we might get caught in traffic, as our flight was only a couple of hours later. So we drove to Bayan Lepas and dropped by a mamak joint called Makbul to pass the time.
Roti tisu, naan, tandoori chicken, pasembor, mee goreng mamak, mango lassi and ABC. An excellent end to the trip!
Maka makbul (sesuai laa nama kedai mamak tu) sudah pengembaraan kali ini.
Cheq balik dulu noo!
