How did they meet? Yeah, I know you are dying to know :-p Well, they met through friends. Her kakak angkat is a friend of his mak angkat. Saling angkat mengangkat, akhirnya angkat terus ke Makkah. No, he’s not Arab. He’s Malay yet born and raised in Makkah. His family has lived there for a really long time. Talking to him was funny because he speaks Malay with a really thick Kelantanese accent (other than Arabic, of course). Momay ended up being the interpreter because as much as we couldn’t understand him, he couldn’t understand us!
Multicolored gulai at Rebung. Perfectly hot and spicy, just the way I like it!
With the very friendly Chef Ismail.

Laili went for the western spread.
The ever cheerful Deq No with her hubby Najam.
Farah and Ina, pretty in pink. Ina left her hubby at home.
Here comes the bride-and-groom-to-be, Momay and Suhaimi.
We went for the buffet at RM 43 per head. The spread was really good. All kinds of gulai, laksa, sate, bubur manis, kuih muih, ice kacang... just too many to mention! If you have a visitor from overseas who wants to try authentic Malay food, this is the place to go. They also have the likes of char koay tiow, steamed fish, roasted lamb, barbecued wings, cream soup... pretty good mix of local and western delicacies I would say. The ambience is nice. There’s a surau for Muslims to perform prayers, which makes it perfect for iftar in Ramadhan. If you want to have a quiet meal, a private air-conditioned room is available for booking. On the opposite, there’s also a stage with karaoke set where you can sing your heart out!
Gambar yang kanan atas itu ditujukan khas buat seseorang yang jauh di sana dengan ucapan “Sila lap air liur anda!”
Kenyang perut senang hati!
Chef Ismail showing off his vocal skills, accompanied by two really cool aunties who danced like no one’s business!
Apart from the food, I really like the restaurant’s deco.
As we were enjoying the performances, I saw Eizlan Yusoff and his wife walking out from the private section and went to sit in front of the stage. A perfect chance for a paparazzi shot!
Me: Najam, tolong amikkan gambo Eizlan Yusoff.
Me: Ko kan dok paling depan, boleh nampak dekat.
He took Red Baby from me, stood up, walked towards Eizlan Yusoff’s table...
...and took this shot!
Omigod! All of us girls were just SHOCKED that he did that! All I expected was for Najam to use Red Baby’s zoom function and discreetly snap a pic. Totally didn’t expect him to stand in front of the guy and take a close up shot!
Laili who was away to get dessert when it all happened was super jealous that I got Eizlan Yusoff’s photo, so she asked Najam to do the same thing again! Hahaha! Of course Najam didn’t want to! “Kongsi2 je lah gambar tu!” he said. Farah suggested Laili to just go to Eizlan Yusoff and take a photo with him. In the end, the three of us went to Eizlan Yusoff...
...and took this shot!
Done with Eizlan Yusoff, we took a group photo with Chef Ismail before leaving.
Congratulations Momay and Suhaimi! May you have a happy and blessed life together, forever and ever!
