merentas desa

Reporting live from Melaka Maju Jaya (that’s the title of the state’s anthem). Yes, I’m home! Kembali ke desa tercinta!

Speaking of desa, have you experienced merentas desa in school? On my way home, I saw a bunch of school kids doing it.

Run Forrest run!

It reminded me of my schooldays. When I was schooling in Melaka, merentas desa involved passing through estates and walking along streams. By the end of the activity everyone looked like kerbau balik berkubang. Then I entered a boarding school. Over there merentas desa was a lot cleaner, strolling through the beautiful lake garden and passing by government quarters area. The toughest trail was probably a nearby hill but it wasn’t like we had to climb it, more of walking around it.

They even had police escort. Lucky kids!

Hey look at the jeep, overtaking the police on the double-line stretch. Isn’t that illegal? Or is it only illegal if you overtake cars?

my kids also had their fair share of merentas desa. at our new place, it's kind of ok cause ada gak element desa skit, but when we were back in KJ, takde langsung the desa element
