Yesterday afternoon I went to my housing area’s residents association meeting. There was one senior guy who had been sitting on the board for the longest time and had been doing an excellent job, but he wasn’t good at talking. And in any election, if you don’t promote yourself well, you don’t get voted. He ended up being sidelined. I could sense his sadness. But what to do, the tribe had spoken. The sight of the dejected old man hit straight to the heart.
It reminded me of the words of my big boss:
“There’s no point of doing a good job if only you know about it.”
Let others know what you are capable of. Get yourself recognized.
Walk the talk – definitely.
Talk the walk – are you ready?
